In Episode 023, we take a step back to Spring 1993 to discuss the Weekapaug Groove from 04/02/1993 in Bellingham, Washington. A song that the band utilized to push beyond the fray into full-on Type II jamming space, this Bellingham version is an excellent example of Phish becoming comfortable with taking musical risks on a nightly basis.

Songs featured in this episode are:

Nils Frahm: “Down Down,”

Low Cut Connie: “Boozophilia,”

PJ Harvey: “Send His Love To Me,” and

The National: “It Never Happened,”

In addition, we discuss two late-2017 records we highly recommend: Joana Serrat: “Dripping Springs,” and JD McPherson: “UNDIVIDED HEART & SOUL.”
