The Guardian.com tells of a trip all music fans need to make; the drive is from Chicago to Memphis and all of the music related venues, eateries recording studios and bars that you need to visit whether you are a fan of Blues or country music. It sounds like a trip my wife and I need to make. Check out the link to the article in this week’s Write up.

Currently Hambridge has James Cotton’s Cotton Mouthed Man, Buddy Guy’s critically acclaimed Rhythm & Blues, talented young guitarist Quinn Sullivan’s Getting There, Delbert McClinton & Glenn Clark’s album Blind, Crippled & Crazy oh and by the way he produced the Joe Louis Walker album we were talking about earlier in the Show, Hellfire. The Blues Blast interview this week was with bass player Tommy Shannon it covered his entire career starting with playing at Woodstock as part of Johnny Winter’s band through his time with Stevie Ray Vaughan & Double Trouble and what he thinks is the future for Blues music. It’s a great read!

Yesterday marked the 23rd anniversary of the death of Stevie Ray Vaughan. I listened to Texas Flood last night and it still sounds as fresh as it did when it was released in 1983. I recommend you give it a listen today.
