SHOW NOTES: Black-Eyed & Blues 77

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving I know I sure did. Here's what this past Tuesday looked like: we opened the show with an instrumental piece from Johnny Sansone called Popeyes & a Hubigs, Part 2. If you've ever been to New Orleans you know what both of the things are. We then got right intop the main body of the show starting out with last weeks bands. First up was violinist Heather Hardy and her song Change then next we had all the way from Verona, Italy Roberto Morbioli with his song Better Half of Me. If you like what you hear from Roberto check out his website (robertomorbioli.com). After Roberto we played the 2010 and 2011 Ct Blues Challenge finalists Bad Rooster and their song Downshift.
We then played Roxy Perry's That Night in Memphis which was a perfect segue into our interview with Roxy. Even in this incredibly busy time of year Roxy was good enough to give us about 15 minutes of her time. We spanned her career from child star, to 6 set a night at the Peppermint Lounge as a Teen all of the way up to her winning the West Chester Arts Council's Artist of the Year Award. This is an incredibly prestigious award as it is not only for musicians but is for all of the arts. I hope you got a chance to hear the interview as she was great. If you want to hear any of Roxy's music go to her website (Roxyperry.com) if you want to listen to her radio show you can find her onkconlineradio.com. After finishing up with the interview with Roxy we then moved on to another artist from New York ;Larry McCray and his version of Blues is My Business. I felt like a little acoustic music this week so we went with Dan Stevens' Ramblin'.
We are now entering the home stretch of the show. We played Hey Senorita from Coco Montoya who is not playing at Sally's but if there is a national touring act in Hartford it is our job to let you know. Coco will be at the Arch Street Tavern on Saturday 24Nov2012. As with every week; the last two songs that I play are from the bands that are playing at Black-Eyed Sally's this Weekend (Nov 23 Nov 24) First we gave you christine Ohlman & Rebel Montez and their Version of Highway 61 and went straight into Roxy Perry's Roadmaster from her album "In My Sweet Time".
Again I hope everyone had a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving and I'll see you next week.
