Jody Stephens is the last surviving member of Big Star, a beloved rock band whose influence is legendary. Though the band failed to sell many albums in the 1970s, Big Star experienced a revival in interest after such artists as R.E.M., the Replacements and Teenage Fanclub paid tribute in the '80s and '90s. The three Big Star albums are now in every serious rock fan's collection.

While Dad Rock is on the road, we stopped at the famous Ardent Studios in Memphis to talk with Stephens (he manages the studios today) about Big Star, Ardent's 50th anniversary and his new musical project, Those Pretty Wrongs (with Luther Russell).
