The Gold Rush hit Victoria, Australia in 1851, and people quickly dropped everything and headed to the goldfields to try and strike it rich. But then the government started charging large gold digging fees, and before long corruption became widespread. After the murder of one of their own, the miners had well and truly had enough. The only thing left to do... REBEL! Often referred to as the birth of democracy in Australia, this is the bloody story of the Eureka Rebellion and The Battle of The Eureka Stockade.
