In the early to mid-2000s, as UK Garage* began to morph into different genres like Dubstep and UK Funky, Birmingham native Mike Skinner established The Streets in the British charts thanks to his savvy production and astute depictions of the lives of young Brits. "Let's Push Things Forward" or "Fit But You Know It" became mini-anthems in themselves while other tracks like "Dry Your Eyes" pulled on many a heart string.
