Once Andrew Norman began to find his modern musical identity, he fully embraced extended techniques on the instruments he writes for—light fingerings on stringed instruments, producing empty, gritty timbres or vertical bow bouncing on the strings, for example—and it contributed to the sonic personality for which he's now known.
