At 12, Reverend Jimmie Bratcher’s dad put an ad in the Kansas City Star; “Will trade 1958 Desoto for electric guitar and amplifier”. The rest is history, as Jimmie still owns the guitar and amp and used the guitar on some songs on his latest release, Secretly Famous. Why does Jimmie feel like Secretly Famous is his first album? Where is he heading today and tomorrow?  I will sit with “The Rev” and explore his past, present and future.
Doug MacLeod has been doing what he loves for over 40 years; playing the blues, traveling and meeting his fans, teaching guitar and playing the blues on the radio. Mentored by George “Harmonica” Smith who also nicknamed him “Dubb”, Doug continues to make music while continuing his life as an ordained minister. He was named Acoustic Artist of The Year at the 2010 Blues Music Awards and is up for that honor again this year. His latest album, There’s A Time, is full of wonderful music.  I will sit with Doug and discuss his journey while we check out the music.
4 Jacks is Anson Funderbrugh, Big Joe, Kevin McKendree and Steve Mackey.  All four have wonderfully successful careers in other projects but have come together for the 4 Jacks. How did these four players come together for this project and is it a long-term project are two areas we will explore with Anson who will join us on The Couch while we listen to songs from Deal With It.
Grand Marquis originally Sat On The Couch back in March of 2011.  Now they are back with a new album and they are sharing it here first.  We will find out what this kickin’ Jump Jive Blues band from Kansas City is up to while we check out the new music.
