The first of our IBC preview shows leading up to our live webcasts from Beale Street, January 29 – February 1 and the  wrap-up show on February 4.
Ray Bonneville took first place in the 28 IBC Solo/Duo Challenge last year in Memphis.  Since then he has been traveling almost constantly throughout the US, Canada and Europe, playing over 150 shows a year.
I will chat with Ray about his time here in Memphis and how it impacted his life and career.
Back in 2003, Tom Gray and Mark Johnson brought Delta Moon to Memphis and won the 19 IBC Band Challenge.  They did not stop there and 9 years later they just released their 7 album, Black Cat Oil, expanding their sound even further.
Tom and Mark will chat about their beginnings, getting to Memphis and their recollections of that week of their lives.
Known then as “Little” Toby Walker, he came to Memphis and walked away with the top spot in the 18 IBC Solo/Duo Challenge in 2002.
Now, Toby Walker tours the world sharing his skillful finger-picking technique, songs and music with all who come to listen.
What did the IBC do to further his career?  Where does Toby want to go in 2013?  I will chat with him about this while we check out music from his Shake Shake Mama album.
Then, Ms Sunday Wilde will join me to talk about her new album He Gave Me A Blue Nightgown.
Sunday originally sat with me in October of 2011 and promised she would return with her next project and, true to her word, she brings us this new music.
We will talk about her time in the studio and the road she traveled to get it done and released.
Since it is the first Monday of the month (heck, first Monday of the year!) Chefjimi Patricola will join me to discuss the Holiday Blues411 Report.
