Today’s guest is Colin Peterik. If that name sounds familiar, you know your stuff. Colin is the son of Jim Peterik, who wrote some of the biggest hits of the 70’s & 80’s with Vehicle by Ides Of March Eye Of The Tiger by Survivor, & Hold On Loosely by .38 Special. Colin talks about growing up in the industry. He remembers being woken up at 6am by his dad working out some of these hits on the piano. Colin’s influences are wide-ranging. There’s the obvious link to his dad, but he was equally influenced by prog rock, Steely Dan, & skateboarding. He’s even the singer & keyboardist for a Steely Dan tribute band called Brooklyn Charmers.

His first solo album is coming out. It’s called Everything and Nothing and it is a fun listen. There is such a wide variety of styles. Colin discusses his studio process and if there might be a father/son duet in the future. Check Colin out on Instagram @colin_peterik_music & twitter @ColinPeterik.
