We're Alive

Wayland Productions Inc
The survival continues… with “We're Alive: Descendants”
Listen to the entire epic series, which follows Survivors in Los Angeles after the world has been turned upside down.  It begins with “A Story of Survival” which spans from Chapters 1-48. Our survivors band together, fortify a safe haven known as the Tower, and discover that the Infected are far from the biggest threat they will have to face. The adventure continues with two mini-series: “Lockdown” - A small group of inmates and prison guards are trapped in the T-block at Twin Towers Jail. They are forced to work together and find a way to escape while the rest of the world ends around them. “Goldrush” - Set 17 years after the main events of “A Story of Survival”, this is a recollection story that describes the efforts of the four Soldiers as they attempt a side mission to retrieve a suspected stash of gold bullion. Our newest season is “We’re Alive: Descendants”: The story of survival continues; the fight is not over. 18 years after the Outbreak, the world is starting to re-organize and rebuild, but many different forms of humanity are still struggling to survive in the aftermath. Nicholas Tink grew up in the shadow of his father- the late, great, Saul Tink. Little does he know that deep in the places where infected dwell, another descendant lies waiting.  Content Warning: This podcast contains descriptions of graphic violence, sexual references, and strong language. Radio Free Brooklyn
Http://radiofreebrooklyn.com On 50 Years Ago This Week, host Jim Melloan counts down the Top 40 from exactly 50 years ago. Jim gives some details about the background of each song as it debuts on the chart, and plays later covers (or earlier originals) of many of the featured hits. Radio Free Brooklyn is a non-commercial community freeform Internet radio station, streaming original content by artists and residents of NYC’s most populous borough 24/7. We live in an age in which the media is too often used as a means to constrain and restrict rather than express. Radio Free Brooklyn is building a communication infrastructure to strengthen the community of artists and residents of NYC’s most populous borough. Our Mission: We chose Internet radio not only because it is the most accessible medium for many, but because radio can be so many things: a subversive apparatus, a political cudgel, a prank, a ritual, a bond. We broadcast not the commercial dross that clogs the terrestrial airwaves, but original programming as diverse as the programmers themselves – stories, sound art, radical ideation, comedy, sex, and experimentation yet unheard. We are a community organization - all are welcome to participate.

Professor Christine PETIT is holding the chair of "Genetics and Cellular Physiology". Despite the amazing knowledge gathered on the physiology of the auditory system, especially at the peripheral level, the sensory organ and its innervation, the underlying molecular mechanisms, were escaping characterization. Then, on the grounds of the identification of the genes causative for the early onset forms of deafness in humans pioneered by Professor Christine Petit, her laboratory set off to decipher the cellular and molecular mechanisms of hearing, the way in which the auditory system develops and processes acoustic signals. Crossing the boundaries between medical and basic research fields, multidisciplinary analyses enable this laboratory to decipher the molecular physiology of the sensory organ (especially of auditory sensory cells), the pathogenesis of a large spectrum of inherited deafness forms and also to uncover new physiological properties of the auditory system. Today, its research encompasses additional objectives, such as in particular the treatment of Usher syndrome, using a gene-therapy approach of the retinal defects associated to congenital profound deafness and the elucidation of the pathogenesis of presbycusis, age-related sensorineural hearing loss, in the perspective of preventing and alleviating this very frequent communication disorder.

The internationalization of law, the central topic of the Chair of Legal Studies, is not a category like domestic or international law, but a movement that transforms one by the other, or one into the other, and creates tension between relativism and universalism. Considering universalism's failure (in the areas of the market, human rights, environmental law and criminal law), it would seem reasonable to prefer the traditional conception of law identified with the state. But domestic law cannot by itself cope with the globalization of flows (of money and information), risks (ecological, sanitary and biotechnological), or crimes (from corruption to terrorism). This is why the Chair's research into how to realize pluralist internationalization focuses on accepting diversity and finding ways to organize the various systems around common principles.
