C'est à l’âge de sept ans, aux côtés d’Ernest Wilson et Peter Austin, que Freddie McGregor débute sa carrière dans le berceau du reggae qu’est Kingston, la capitale Jamaïquaine. On est alors en 1963, année charnière qui, pour tous les amoureux de cette musique en vert, jaune, rouge, marque la naissance du trio Bob Marley, Bunny Wailer et Peter Tosh dont « little » Freddie croisera la route au sein du mythique Studio One. 40 albums et près de six décennies plus tard, cette encyclopédie vivante du reggae n’a rien perdu de sa ferveur légendaire et multiplie les projets comme l’atteste son dernier single en date : If God Is For Us.
