Petite ville d’Angleterre touristique par excellence, Stratford-Upon-Avon a bâti sa réputation autour d’un nom ô combien illustre ; celui du poète dramaturge William Shakespeare dont la maison natale s’est transformée en un lieu de pèlerinage pour tout amateur de théâtre. C’est au cœur de cet environnement chargé d’histoire et empreint du sceau du Barde Immortel que Paul Foster, enfant de la région puisque natif de Coventry distant seulement de quelques dizaines de miles, a choisi d’y ouvrir son restaurant, Salt, par le biais d’une campagne de crowdfunding. Un pari pour le moins osé mais qui s’est rapidement avéré payant avec l’attribution d’une première étoile Michelin un an et demi à peine après l’inauguration de Salt. Et si les clichés sur la gastronomie de nos voisins d’outre-Manche ont la vie dure, quoi de plus opportun qu’une visite en cuisine en compagnie de Paul Foster afin de faire voler en éclat ce poncif désuet. En scène !
