En France, et plus largement en Europe, le déclin du christianisme semble un fait entendu. Vocations de plus en plus rares pour entrer dans les ordres, baisse de la fréquentation à une messe dominicale autrefois passage béni et qui ne s’inscrit plus dans l’agenda hebdomadaire de nos concitoyens, le continent qui abrite la maison du Saint-Père ne fait visiblement plus recette, tournant peu à peu le dos, particulièrement en hexagone, à ses racines historiquement chrétiennes. Alors que la religion dans son ensemble censée prôner l’amour du prochain et la tolérance est à nouveau source de conflits, que les « affaires » en tous genres viennent éclabousser l’immaculée blancheur de la soutane papale, les chrétiens vivent une longue et douloureuse crise de foi. Le père Antoine Guggenheim de la paroisse Notre Dame d’Espérance, à Paris, nous explique s’il est possible de sortir de ce chemin de croix !
