Une équipe d’astrophysiciens montre que les sursauts gamma de courte durée qui sont généralement le fruit de la collision de deux étoiles à neutrons lorsqu’un trou noir se forme, peuvent aussi apparaître avant que le trou noir ne se forme, via une étoile à neutron supramassive. L’étude est publiée dans The Astrophysical Journal.
