Une équipe d'astrophysiciens a mesuré la masse d'un trou noir supermassif grâce à l'effet de lentille gravitationnelle que sa galaxie provoque sur une galaxie d'arrière plan, très déformée... Ils trouvent une masse colossale de 32 milliards de masses solaires, ce qui fait de ce trou noir ce qu'on appelle un trou noir ultramassif. L'étude est publiée dans Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
