This week I dove deep into a topic that’s getting a lot of buzz in AI search circles: Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) — the practice of helping brands get discovered in AI-powered discovery systems like ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and future generative engines. Specifically, I looked at which agencies in the UK are leading the way with GEO services and what sets the best apart. In my research I spoke to founders, read dozens of case studies, and compared service offerings, pricing structures, and client testimonials.
What I found is that while GEO is still emerging as a defined service, some UK agencies are already building frameworks that help brands rank better inside AI outputs by shaping structured data, content strategy, prompt engineering, and semantic models. I noticed some trends: successful agencies don’t treat GEO as SEO 2.0; they blend traditional SEO analytics with generative search understanding and AI prompt architecture. UK businesses I talked to said that working with an agency who gets both the technical and creative side of AI discovery made a big difference.
In this episode I share the themes I discovered, real examples of UK agencies doing interesting work, what questions you should ask before signing a contract, and how to think about measuring success in a landscape that’s rapidly changing. By the end, you’ll feel more confident evaluating GEO partners and deciding what kind of support fits your business goals.
