In the 1990's Die Hard inspired many clones and ripoffs for every action star under the sun including Jean Claude Van Damme's Sudden Death (1995) which one could call Die Hard at a hockey game. When one looks at JCVD's filmography no one would have thought to remake Sudden Death, but remake it they did with action star Michael Jai White in Welcome to Sudden Death (2020) (or Die Hard at a basketball game).
