Welcome to Episode 1361 in which Marc Millon interviews Luca Collia of Casa E. di Mirafiore

More about Casa E. di Mirafiore s.r.l.

Casa E. di Mirafiore was founded by actual royalty. King Vittorio Emanuele II's son, Count Emanuele Alberto di Mirafiore, founded Casa E. di Mirafiore in 1878. Fast forward nearly 150 years, and under the leadership of Oscar Farinetti, founder of the Italian gourmet food chain Eataly, wines are made from the usual Langhe varietals (Nascetta, Barbera, Dolcetto and Nebbiolo) and sourced from about 25 hectares of owned vineyards. Traditional winemaking — long skin maceration, lengthy maturation periods and medium-sized oak casks — is the great foundation on which these wines rest.
