- Customers may be taking flight after live streaming and recording tool Streamyard increased its monthly pricing by 80%, and will automatically apply that price to existing subscribers next month. Pricing has moved from $25 to $44.99 a month; the company removed its pricing from its public website in July.
- Streamyard was acquired in April by Bending Spoons, who previously limited the free service for Evernote and almost doubled its price, and also tripled the subscription price for Meetup.
- Streamyard’s original co-founders, Geige Vendentop and Dan Briggs, left the business four months ago. “We tried to buy back StreamYard ourselves, but unfortunately it didn't work out.”
- Amaze Media Labs has unveiled the Branded Audience Growth Network, a platform to help grow podcast listenership. The tool uses contextual, demographically-targeted advertising.
- Podscribe has launched a new IPv6 tracking solution, which the company says could prevent loss of up to 50% of attribution numbers. The system now collects IPv4 and IPv6 addresses.

- LAist, the radio station and podcast producer in Los Angeles, has been awarded a grant of $2.4mn for local journalism. It’s part of $15mn of funding from the LA Local News Initiative.
- In Canada, Rogers Sports & Media is now selling Wondery shows. The network was with DAX/Global.
- The Australian Podcast Ranker for August was released. Total downloads for the top 200 shows in August were down -3.5%; August has 4.5% fewer weekdays, though, making it difficult to compare calendar months. The highest new entry was Wondery’s Hysterical at #73.
Moves and hires
- Podcast platform Podspace has hired three industry veterans in Sweden and Finland, eyeing expansion. An original co-founder of Acast and former Nordic CEO of Spotify, Öjje Holt, is Director of Growth; Johan Leijonhufvud is Senior Client Manager and Eeva Ronkainen is the company’s new Country Manager for Finland: both worked for Spotify.

- Adalyst Media has added Under the Influence with Jo Piazza to its slate. The show looks at the current landscape of social media influencers and how it particularly affects women — both the ones who create the content, and the ones who consume it every day.
- Panic World drops today from the writer of the Garbage Day newsletter, Ryan Broderick. The show investigates how a trend that started in a dark corner of the internet eventually made its way out into the real world. The first episode looks at Sleepytime, a "cooking chicken with sleeping pills" meme from TikTok.
- Channels with Peter Kafka is new from Vox Media. It's the relaunch of Peter Kafka's technology show, formerly known as Recode Media. The show will feature weekly conversations with industry leaders, upstarts, and observers, about the areas where media, entertainment and technology collide.
- Let’s Begin with Jenna Arnold is new this week. From early learning company Begin, the show "delivers authentic conversations, expert guidance, and realistic strategies to support parents in the complex journey of raising children and growing alongside them in today's world.".
- Immigration even made it into the US Presidential Debate last night; so it's helpful that Movement launched earlier this year, telling stories of global migration through music. Today's episode celebrates Enkutatash, Ethiopian New Year, which is today - a day of special significance for the podcast's host, Meklit Hadero, an Ethiopian-born American singer and songwriter based in San Francisco.
- Rugby Rodeo is new today from Spotify's The Ringer, looking at the world of women's rugby. It's hosted by England teammates Jess Breach and Ellie Kildunne. The Women's Rugby World Cup will be held in a year's time in England, so it's an ideal time to focus on the sport.
- The Jam with Jonathan Shank is back for a second season. The Osiris Media show, hosted by music industry leader and innovator Jonathan Shank, explores the evolution of music through personal conversations and journeys with artists, industry icons, legendary bands, and tastemakers.
