James Ronald Horn, an American saxophonist, flautist and oboist, was born on November 20,1940, in Los Angeles, California. He has played on rock, country, and blues albums and performed live with some of the best musicians of the era. Jim took playing saxophone seriously, and after sitting in high school classes all day, Horn would sit in with bands in various L.A. nightclubs. After he jammed with the legendary King Curtis, his sound changed forever.  Horn toured with Duane Eddy for five years, playing sax and flute on the road, and in the recording studio Jim worked as a member of the Wrecking Crew and inducted into the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville as a member in 2007.  He playing flute on the original studio recording of Canned Heat’s “Going Up the Country.”  Jim played flute and saxophone on the Beach Boys' Pet Sounds and played flute on the Rolling Stones' Goats Head Soup album.
