In this festive episode, we celebrate the joy of music and community with the Pittsburgh Girls Choir.
Artistic Director Ryan Keeling and accompanist Charise Webster discuss several upcoming performances, including a family-friendly Mid-Winter Community Sing this Saturday, December 7th at 10 am, and a beautiful all-choir holiday concert, Voices of Light on Saturday, December 14th at 2 pm.
Ryan and Charise discuss their roles in fostering a supportive and creative environment for the girls, who range from first graders to high schoolers. They also highlight the unique vocal training and camaraderie that makes the choir so special. You'll hear about the choir's various ensembles, from the youngest singers in Melodia to the high schoolers in the prestigious Chamber Choir, and the commitment they bring to every rehearsal.
Ryan talks about Benjamin Britten's Ceremony of Carols, which they will perform at the Voice of Light Concert next week. At the end, members of their Chamber Choir perform three selections from the Ceremony of Carols: Procession, Wolcum Yole, and These Little Babes.
