Ear Hustle brings you the daily realities of life inside prison, shared by those living it, and stories from the outside, post-incarceration.
Ear Hustle is prison slang for eavesdropping, and that’s what listening to the show feels like: a raw, often funny, and always surprising peek into the reality of life inside prison.
Hosts Nigel Poor and Earlonne Woods co-created the show that launched in 2017 while Earlonne was incarcerated at San Quentin State Prison, where Nigel was a volunteer teaching photography. Since Earlonne’s release in 2018, the show has expanded to include stories from prisons across the state, including the California Institution for Women, as well as stories about getting out of prison and starting over, post-incarceration.
From finding romance, to grappling with a life sentence, to trying to parent via 15-minute phone calls, Ear Hustle stories deliver what This American Life host Ira Glass calls a “"very real” and “untragic” take on prison life.

Sébastien Savin est un auteur parisien en pleine crise de la quarantaine, dont les repères en général et les repères amoureux en particulier ont fortement été bousculés par cette époque sans dessus dessous: les années 20. Attention 2020! 45 ans ça commence à sentir le sapin je vous l'accorde mais pas à ce point.
Une série audio feel good, des personnages attachants et truculents.
Une fiction que lon binge sans modération, attention à l'addiction.
Tout commence en 2020 juste avant la pandémie et les multiples "confinements". Vous savez? Quand, sous pretexte de sauver l'humanité, on nous a demandé de rester le cul posé sur notre canapé?... C'est notre "Once upon a time" (Il était une fois" ndlr) de notre conte de fée.
Sébastien, fraichement quadra et son amie Valérie sont installés à la terasse d'un bistro de Montmartre et sirotent un verre de vin blanc bien trop sec qu'ils rebaptisent "Destop". Ils refont le monde avec leurs langues de p****, et aspirent à moins d'opressement, d'obligations, de sorties, de solicitations en tous genres... C'est comme si leurs plus grands souhaits avaient été réalisés. Merci la bonne fée Covid!
Ces mois d'isolement ont considérablement changé la donne.
Surtout quand on est comédien (la culture est à l'arrêt), célibataire (les rapprochements sont prohibés) et quarantenaire/fraichement divorcé (en l'espace de 10 ans les codes ont changé).
C'est donc un peu largué que cet auteur gay aborde cette nouvelle décade. Dans ce podcast intime, suivez ses histoires d'amour tourmentées, ses romances parfois fantasmées, et son regard acéré et pertinent sur notre société.
Suivez dans cette comédie romantique les aventures d'un parisien et de sa bande d'amis bobos qui relatent sans le savoir, mais à la perfection les émois de leur génération.
À la fois une comédie désopilante et un divertissement grinçant, souvent emprunt d'émotions.
