Sollicité en 1994 par l'hebdomadaire Lien Social pour animer une chronique de critique de livres, Jacques Trémintin n'a cessé de lire et écrire depuis. Plaisir intellectuel tout d'abord que celui de découvrir ces écrits de sciences humaines qui ouvrent à la compréhension du monde en général et de l'espèce humaine en particulier. Plaisir professionnel ensuite que celui d'éclairer sa pratique quotidienne de travailleur social en protection de l'enfance. Plaisir personnel, enfin, d'ouvrir un livre, de le feuilleter, de le lire et d'essayer d'en retirer la substantifique moelle pour la transmettre chaque semaine et peut-être donner envie aux lecteurs, et aujourd'hui aux auditeurs, de s'y plonger à leur tour.
