Philosophie des sciences biologiques et médicales - Anne Fagot-Largeault

Les travaux de recherche de la Pr Anne Fagot-Largeault portent sur des thèmes d'histoire et de philosophie des sciences du vivant, abordés sous l'angle théorique (épistémologie, ontologie biologique) ou pratique (éthique). Ils ont suivi trois directions principales: (1) raisonnement diagnostique, logique inductive, statistique et probabilités, procédures heuristiques; (2) investigation des liens de causalité, preuves de causalité, explication causale, évolution et ontologie du devenir; (3) éthique et connaissance, méthodologie de la recherche clinique, éthique de l'investigation bio-médicale, épistémologie biologique, anthropologie bio-médicale. Les recherches sur la logique des raisonnements médicaux et sur la nature des explications causales ont pris naissance en relation avec le programme de logique et philosophie des sciences de l'université de Stanford, et se sont développées grâce à une pratique hospitalière de médecin psychiatre attaché, aux urgences. La réflexion morale a été enrichie et mise à l'épreuve par l'expérience de divers Data and Safety Monitoring Committees (veille sur des essais cliniques effectués sur des malades du sida ou du cancer), et par une participation de huit années (1990-1998) aux travaux du Comité Consultatif National d'Ethique français. The research of Prof. Anne Fagot-Largeault, centers on the philosophy of life sciences, developed along three lines: (1) diagnostic reasoning, inductive logic, statistical and probabilistic methods, heuristic procedures; (2) investigation of causal links, validation of causal hypotheses, causal explanation, evolution and the ontology of becoming; (3) ethics of medical practice and investigation, methodology of clinical & of epidemiological research, epistemology of bio-medical sciences, bio-medical anthropology. Her list of publications counts around 250 titles, including a dozen of books, among which: Médecine et probabilités, Paris: Didier-érudition, 1982; L'homme bio-éthique. Our favorite preachers are expositors, we ourselves are expositors and we are convinced of the importance and need for exposition. Our name comes from Luke 24:13-33. In this passage, the two disciples were walking home after the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. As they were traveling, Jesus approached them and they did not recognize Him. Jesus asked them what they were discussing and the disciple answered things about Jesus the Nazarene. The disciples failed to understand that Jesus was the Messiah, the Son of God. Jesus then began to explain the Scriptures to them. It is the Emmaus Project podcast’s firm conviction that the world has two fundamental problems, they do not understand the Scriptures and they misunderstand Jesus. It is our goal to explain the Scriptures and encourage our listeners to fall in love with the Word of God. It is our heartfelt desire to have God’s Word as the authority of the church. County Down born Derek Taylor had his first taste of broadcasting on BFBS in Aden in 1966, where his father was serving in the British Army, hosting the weekly Get With It Club! Back in England he worked as a night club DJ before entering drama college and then university. Graduating in 1979, he joined the BBC World Service, working on The Weekly Echo. From there his broadcasting career took him to BBC Radio Suffolk, where he presented a weekly arts show. But he fell out badly with the programme organiser over the anti-war song "Gallipoli". Apparently the song was too long and therefore too costly for the BBC to play. He was told he would never work for the BBC again, and hasn't. Derek next joined a group applying for a local radio license in Folkestone/Dover Kent, producing and presenting the news and the drive-time show. From there he moved to Thanet Radio and presented a country music show. In 1992 Derek discovered the British Archive of Country Music where he has worked ever since as an Archivist. The Archive has nearly a million country music recordings scanning the whole history of country music and its roots. It's this collection that forms the basis for his Archive Roots Americana Show on Radio Caroline. Derek Taylor has also written ten western novels, all still in print. He can't think why, other than the fact that he loves cowboy music!
